Does your progress look like this? Tiny tracks in the snow with minuscule steps show the way to a goal seemingly off in the distance. Today I feel like the animal which made these impressions in the snow. I listen to a podcast on self publishing only to hear about five or six other items in other podcasts which will also be essential to tune into. AHHHH! It's like I'm learning to tread water again.
As a young girl when I learned to tread water I'd practice on the edge of my bed. Sounds weird I know, I'm that way. I'd lean back with my feet over the edge and train my legs the whip kick so when it came time for swim lessons I'd have it mastered. Needless to say my dry land practice had it's place and I eventually could hold my own above water.
Today I read a verse that reminded me I'm stepping in own strength and perhaps my feelings of being overwhelmed are also rooted in where I'm drawing my strength.
"For it is God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may of God and not of us." 2 Corinthians 4:6,7
Ah yes! Thank-YOU Lord for this reminder. More of YOU, and less of me each step of the way.
Perhaps you needed to hear this to. Remember to invite God along in the tracks you make today.
