Alaska Calling

Alaskan Women of Caliber Series BOOK 2

I’D REACHED MY DREAM CAREER AS AN RN

THEN THE DOUBT OF MY CALLING CHALLENGED MY FAITH.

After two years of working in a small city close to my family in Canada, my heart remains unsettled. Now, I find myself at a crossroads, not knowing which way to turn.

My calling seemed certain, now I question my career path and my relationship with my boyfriend. My futile efforts to pretend it’s all okay displace me, spinning me loose, and my world threatens to toss me into disarray. But the winds of change bring a hopeful challenge when a letter arrives from a nurse in Alaska inviting me to work at a remote clinic. Perhaps God has more in mind for me than I hope for myself.

Can I rise to this adventure and leave the familiarity of home and country?

Will I be able to set aside my own agenda and trust God’s timing?

Or will my need to have a detailed plan in all areas of my life be an obstacle too large for me to overcome?

About

The Full Story

God has a way of bringing us full circle  in our lives! I was raised in Canada and moved to Alaska over twenty one years ago.

My husband and I have 3 teens. As a homeschool Mom I'd love to say our day is full of fun, crafts and field trips but let's be real, it's a challenge.

There've been many outlets I've pursued over the years and recently I'm diving in to pursue writing. It's been a great fit for my time at home where I can pick away at a story, outline, research or interview while being available for my family.

This is one of those full circles because waaaaay back in Elementary school I loved creative writing and would share my stories in fifth grade. My writing continued into Junior high and I still remember my L.A teacher telling me she expected to see my name as an author one day. It wasn't a dream of mine at the time. I went on to pursue a career as an RN, which is what brought me to Alaska.

I could go on and on but I'd love to hear how God has brought you full circle in your life? What events or activities has he used to draw you to HIM?

How It All Started

It's worth sharing!

What is it that fuels you? For me, it’s stories. I love hearing about pivotal moments in life. Those details that draw us in, resonate and teach. With a story we can explore deeper meanings and what God impresses upon us to draw us close to Him.

Recently I began to compile stories of Alaskan women.  It's gaining more and more traction each day. These biographies will be fictionalized and transformed into novels.

In the next month I'll be posting updates about the launch of BOOK 1 of the Alaskan Women of Caliber Series. Check out the blog below for the backstory.

I hope you enjoy browsing my site and all of the unique content I have to offer. Take a look around; perhaps you’ll discover what fuels you as well. Read on and enjoy!
